Progetto WeAR – We Are Reality

For people with autism spectrum disorder or special needs, job placement not only represents a mean to achieve economic independence but also an enhancement of their self-esteem and an opportunity of social inclusion.

The WeAR (We Are Reality) project intends to promote a new approach in training, and support job placement of young people with autism and special needs.

The programme aims to build a new training system in WBL (work based learning) and in the field of VET (Vocational Educational Training) in order to support job placement directly involving all the subjects in the process: trainers, educators, tutors and young people from Italy, Germany and Portugal.

The TEACCH method and the task analysis are the main approaches to manage and monitoring the activities that aim to support the empowerment of personal skills through innovative tools developed within the WeAR project:

  • Augmented Reality app prototype to ensure a safe environment learning
  • the Escape Room experience to improve soft skills.

The job placement module is addressed to 10 young adults from each country (Tot 30) and 10 VET trainers/educators who are also involved in a trainers training characterized by 2 learning activities, on-site training e webinars.

The evaluation process allows to verify the impact of the VET programme and its effectiveness in the educational, professional and personal development of people in education, training, youth and sport with the involvement of relatives, caregivers, operators of the various institutions, educational agencies and workplaces.
